Patient Access
Appointments can be booked via telephone, in person or online. We are a very busy surgery and we try our best to accommodate everyone. However, we cannot always offer non-urgent appointments at short notice.
Should you suffer from a genuine medical emergency, you will be offered an appointment within 24 hours. All children under the age of 5 year old and any person having active cancer treatment will be offered an appointment on the same day.
These appointments have to be reserved for genuine medical emergencies requiring attention that day, and cannot be used for reasons of convenience.
Home Visits
Home visits take a long time to carry out. A clinician can see up to six patients in surgery in the time it takes to make one home visit. The clinicians will only make home visits for those who are recorded as housebound, or for those patients in exceptional circumstances who cannot make their way to the surgery via car/taxi/bus due to a medical reason.
The provision of transport is the responsibility of the patient. Please ensure all home visit requests are made by 11am to assist with planning.
If any calls come in after this time, the visit may be deferred to the following day unless it is deemed an emergency by the on-call clinician.
