Dr Henry Choi – Partner
MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP, FP cert.
Dr Choi has been a full time partner since 1990. His clinical interests are in Diabetes and Cancer. He has been Sunderland Diabetes and Cancer lead for over 15 years. He has held senior clinical executive positions within Sunderland PCT and CCG for over many years. Dr Choi also performs minor surgery and joint injections.
Dr Choi works all day Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.
Dr Gavin Milligan – Partner
MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG
Dr Milligan is a GP Partner experienced in Accident & Emergency Medicine. His specialist interests include minor surgery and joint injections. Dr Milligan is the practice lead for Safeguarding.
Dr Milligan works Monday morning and all day Thursday/Friday.
Dr Rory Mackinnon – Partner
BSc (Hons), MBChB, MRCGP
Dr Mackinnon is a full time GP partner at the practice. He enjoys all aspects of primary care and has a special interest in education. Dr Mackinnon is our GP lead for both medical student and junior doctor (F2) training, and for prescribing. He is keen to utilise clinical training and education as a means to develop primary care to meet both the current and future needs of our patients.
Dr Mackinnon works Monday and Wednesday mornings and all day Tuesday/Thursday/Friday.
Dr Robert Shepherd – Salaried GP
MBBS, MRCP(UK), MBGS
Dr Shepherd works all day Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
Dr Helen Schofield – Salaried GP
Dr Schofield works all day Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dr Katy Hearn – Salaried GP
BSc (Hons), MBBS, MRCGP, DFSRH
Dr Hearn has a special interest in older people’s medicine and end of life care. Dr Hearn works closely with Brendan Cassidy to assist with the care of our housebound and care home patients.
Dr Hearn works all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Dr Celine Ting – Salaried GP

Dr Ting works all day Thursday and Friday.
Dr Fiona Watters – Salaried GP
BSc (Hons), MBBS, MRCGP
Dr Watters has a special interest in education and training.
Dr Watters works all day Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with a half day on Wednesday.
Junior Doctor(s)/Medical Students
Our practice trains junior doctors and medical students. Junior doctors are fully qualified and have already done training in hospitals. You can expect them to provide a full range of GP services. If they are not certain about what to do they will ask more senior colleagues for advice. Medical Students are supervised closely by Dr Mackinnon and you will always see a Doctor when you come to see them.

Neil Farline – Partner
RGN, RMN, DPSN, BSc (Hons), Dip PED
Neil is a partner in the practice and works full time. He has been a Nurse practitioner for the past 15 years both in hospital and in the community. He has experience in adult and child psychiatry, elderly medicine, orthopaedics and previously held the position of clinical lead for the minor injuries unit in Washington for five years. Neil has been an independent nurse prescriber since 2003.

Brendan is our frailty nurse and works full time. He visits and assists with our housebound/care home patients as well as running a minor illness clinic daily.
